MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLICATION

General Requirements for Manuscript Preparation and Formatting

  1. UDC Index (aligned left, uppercase letters, bold font).

  2. Items 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 must be provided in both Ukrainian and English.

  3. JEL Classification Codes (placed below the keywords; from 1 to 5 codes in one line, separated by commas, in bold). Example:
    JEL Classification: C12, C14, C18.

  4. DOI (assigned by the Editorial Board after the manuscript has been recommended for publication).

  5. Author's Name (aligned right; full name in italic font, with the surname in CAPITAL LETTERS).

  6. Author Information in Ukrainian and English, including:

    • surname, first name, and patronymic (if applicable);

    • academic degree and academic title (without abbreviations);

    • position and full institutional affiliation (without abbreviations);

    • detailed institutional postal address with ZIP/postal code;

    • country;

    • e-mail address;

    • ORCID ID.

  7. Title of the Article (centered, uppercase letters, font size 16).

Citation Information

Bibliographic references for citation purposes should be provided in both Ukrainian and English.

Abstracts

Abstracts must be provided in Ukrainian and English, in italics and indented.

The abstract should contain at least 1,800 characters, including keywords, and should reflect:

  • introduction;

  • purpose and methods of the study;

  • results;

  • conclusions.

The abstract should incorporate significant terms from the article text. The information presented should be logically structured. The abstract must be concise, clear, and free from unnecessary introductory phrases, secondary information, and vague statements.

Keywords

Keywords should be provided in italics and indented.

A minimum of five keywords or key phrases should be separated by semicolons (;).

Keywords should not duplicate words used in the article title.

Quantitative Indicators

Formulas: __ ; Figures: __ ; Tables: __ ; References: __ .

(The number of formulas, figures, tables, and references should be specified.)

Text Structure

The manuscript text must be structured and include the following sections (formatted in bold italics and indented).

10.1. Introduction

The introduction should include:

  • general statement of the problem and its relevance to important scientific or practical tasks;

  • review of recent studies and publications addressing the problem (with in-text citations);

  • identification of unresolved aspects of the problem addressed by the article;

  • justification of the relevance of the research topic.

10.2. Purpose and Objectives of the Article

Clearly state the purpose and research objectives.

10.3. Main Body of the Research

Present the research findings, describe the methods used, and provide a comprehensive justification of the scientific results obtained.

10.4. Conclusions and Prospects for Further Research

Summarize the key findings and indicate directions for future research.

10.5. References

The list of references should be placed after the main text under the heading "Literature" (italic, 14-point font, single spacing).

References must be prepared:

  • in the original language according to the requirements of the Ukrainian National Standard DSTU 8302:2015 (with amendments);

  • under the heading "References" in English, formatted according to the APA Style:
    http://www.bibme.org/citation-guide/APA/book

Proper names, surnames, and given names should be transliterated according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 55 of January 27, 2010:
http://zakon4.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/55-2010-п

If a cited publication has a DOI, it must be indicated.

Example:

Ivaniv, S.M., Petriv, Yu.S. (2017). Accounting Policy in Ukraine. Ternopil: VPC "Ekonomichna Dumka" [in Ukrainian]. DOI: 10.25164/2219-2568-2017-5(76)-3-12.

The reference list must contain at least 12 sources. References should be numbered according to the order of citation in the text.

In-text Citations for Ukrainian-language Articles

References should be cited in square brackets, for example:

[5, p. 120; 7, pp. 94–95]

where:

  • the first number indicates the source number in the reference list;

  • the second indicates the cited page(s);

  • multiple references are separated by semicolons.

For manuscripts submitted in English, citation and reference formatting rules are provided below.

10.6. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all terms, names, data, quotations, statistical information, and other materials presented in the manuscript.

Abbreviations other than commonly accepted ones are not permitted.

Authors must explicitly indicate that:

  • the manuscript is submitted for publication for the first time and has not been published previously;

  • the manuscript contains the results of the authors' original research.

Any use of ideas, results, or texts of other authors must be properly cited.

Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements will not be considered for publication.

Submitted manuscripts are subject to additional editorial review.

Rejected manuscripts are not returned to authors; only review comments for revision are provided.

Technical Formatting Requirements

  • Page format: A4.

  • Blank lines, letter spacing, hyphenation marks, pseudo-graphic elements, and other non-text symbols are not permitted.

  • Minimum manuscript length: 12 pages.

  • Margins:

    • left: 20 mm;

    • top: 20 mm;

    • bottom: 20 mm;

    • right: 10 mm.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt.

  • Line spacing: 1.5.

  • First-line paragraph indent: 1.25 cm.

The number of tables and figures should be appropriate and justified.

Numerical data should be presented in tables that have:

  • a sequential number (e.g., Table 1);

  • a title centered above the table.

Figures must also:

  • be numbered sequentially;

  • include captions placed below the figure (e.g., Figure 2).

Formulas should be created using the built-in MS Equation Editor, formatted in italics, and numbered on the right-hand side.

Figures created in MS Word must be grouped into a single graphic object.

Tables and figures should be created using Microsoft Word tools and centered on the page.

Automatic soft hyphenation should be disabled. Forced hyphenation using hyphens is prohibited.

Paragraphs should be created only using the Enter key. The use of spaces or tabs for paragraph formatting is not permitted.

All statistical data must be supported by source references.

All quotations must be accompanied by references.

References to textbooks and popular science literature are discouraged.

For English-language manuscripts, references should be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author.

Abbreviations other than commonly accepted ones are not allowed.

Titles of works originally published in Ukrainian or Russian must be translated into English in the reference list.

Reference List Formatting Rules

References should be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author.

Examples:

Multiple Works by the Same Author

References should be ordered chronologically from the earliest to the most recent publication.

Publication Year

The publication year should immediately follow the author's name.

Page Numbers

When referring to an entire publication, the total number of pages should not be indicated.

When referring to a specific part of a publication, page numbers should be provided.

Example:

Marin, J. (2002). Sustainability of Public Finance and Automatic Stabilization under a Rule of Budgetary Discipline (No. 193). ECB Working Paper, pp. 5–6.

Books Published in Ukrainian or Russian

Book titles and place of publication must be translated into English, and the language of the original publication must be indicated in parentheses.

Example:

Kozyuk, V. (2005). Monetary Problems of Global Financial Architecture Functioning. Ternopil: Aston (in Ukrainian).

Journal Articles Published in Ukrainian or Russian

Article titles should be translated into English, while journal titles should be transliterated. The original language must be indicated in parentheses.

Examples:

Kozyuk, V. (2006). Fiscal Policy in the European Monetary Union: The Problems of Automatic Stabilisation and Convergence. Finansy Ukrainy, 6, 57–67 (in Ukrainian).

Zadoya, A. (2012). “New Industrialisation” in the Strategy of Leading Catch-Up. Teoretychni ta Prykladni Pytannya Ekonomiky, 1(27), 21–29 (in Ukrainian).

For articles published in periodicals, the publication year follows the author's name, while the volume, issue number, and page range are indicated after the journal title. The abbreviation “pp.” should not be used before page numbers in journal references.
