MODERN CHALLENGES OF TEAM FUNCTIONING: THE EMOTIONAL DIMENSION

Introduction. In the context of socio-economic instability caused by the full-scale war in Ukraine, the role of teams as a key element in the development of productive forces and organizational resilience has significantly increased. The functioning of teams under crisis conditions is accompanied by elevated levels of stress, emotional tension, and uncertainty, which actualizes the need to study emotional intelligence as an important managerial resource.
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to investigate the role of emotional intelligence in team management under wartime conditions, taking into account regional differences in organizational functioning in Ukraine and the impact of stress factors on team interaction.
Research methods. The study employs general scientific and special research methods, including analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, systemic and structural-functional approaches, comparative analysis, generalization, as well as logical and abstract reasoning methods for developing theoretical conclusions.
Results. The study substantiates that emotional intelligence is a key factor in effective team interaction, conflict reduction, psychological safety, and team adaptation to crisis conditions. It is revealed that the impact of emotional intelligence on team management demonstrates regional differences determined by varying levels of military threats, socio-economic pressure, and organizational experience. The development of emotional intelligence among leaders and team members contributes to strengthening organizational resilience and maintaining productivity under prolonged stress.
Conclusions. Emotional intelligence is a strategic resource for team management in wartime conditions and an essential component of the development of Ukraine’s productive forces. Its systematic development enhances team adaptability, mitigates the negative effects of stress, and ensures the sustainable functioning of organizations across different regions of the country.
